Unfortunately, I have to postpone the maiden voyage of the AVC robot due to a family situation that requires me to be out of town for most of the week.
I've made a lot of progress in the last week but still have a lot of software to write to get the robot driving and navigating autonomously.
For giggles, here's a video I did with my "gumstick" camera, driving the truck around in remote control mode in a fruitless attempt to collect some usable gyro and gps data...
Hey Michael,
ReplyDeletePretty nice results so far. Is that a homemade PCB?
Cheers
Thanks! Sure is. I've had a chance to hone my pcb skills the last few weeks including some TSSOP surface mount stuff and improving on my "silk screen" techniques :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good and tidy from what I can tell! What method do you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll post more pics. I use toner transfer method for traces and silkscreen. I found that spraying top with clear acrylic gives the "silkscreen" a nice finish. I am able to get 16 mil traces with 12-16 mil isolation without too much hassle. One of the boards for the avc bot uses a 16-TSSOP ADC and 0603 passives. I use a reflow skillet ala sparkfun to reflow smd. Will post more on that soon.
